He married Hannah Gould on 10 October 1676, in Chelmsford, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. Galusha Pennypacker came from a long line of military family members. His grandfather fought in the American Revolution, his father served in the Mexican-American War, and his distant cousin was George Armstrong Custer.
